Emma Robison – Co-Founder
After Graduating with a degree in Business and Japanese Economics, Emma worked within the financial recruitment industry in London for several years, developing an understanding for the commercial finance field. Emma went on to work for Experian, leading a team that oversaw various projects including large scale change management whilst also achieving her CPC in HR alongside insolvency and turn around qualifications.
Emma co-founded Business Finance Solutions (UK) Ltd in partnership with Martin’s associated business ‘CVS’.
During the formative years, the business successfully delivered finance solutions to clients nationally with a focus on asset and cash-flow finance. Following the acquisition of ‘CVS’ by Close Brothers Group PLC, Business Finance Solutions (UK) Ltd remained an independent business and developed additional products and services, whilst supporting Close Brothers with signposted requirements where they were unable to provide a solution for their clients themselves.
Business Finance Solutions (UK) Ltd has continued to provide other funders and banks with additional support for their clients where required and where the bank may not have the policy or appetite to offer a solution.
Emma has been instrumental in maintaining compliance and regulatory controls amid an ever-changing environment to ensure banks, financial institutions and their associated partners continue to deliver fair and sustainable solutions to clients, as well as ensuring back office solutions are “fit for purpose” in a heavily regulated environment.
Martin Collins – Co-Founder
Following a successful early career with Lex and GE, Martin founded Commercial Vehicle Solutions in 2002 – a Commercial Vehicle Contract Hire and Rental Business which he grew from a standing start selling to a FTSE 250 Merchant Bank with a fleet size in excess of 2,000 vehicles.
As Co-Founder of Business Finance Solutions (UK) Ltd in 2004, Martin delivered consistent growth within the business alongside his Business Partner, Emma Robison, and latterly has overseen a proactive strategy as the business has expanded its products and services to become “The Bank Manager” for the East Midlands SME sector.
Following the sale of his business Martin remained with the firm for a period of time that saw him develop his experience and understanding further within the Finance and Banking sector as well as further enhanced his standing within that community.
Leo Magee – Associate
After a successful 31 year career in banking which saw him achieve the level of Commercial Director in Nottingham, leading teams and mentoring junior managers. Leo also achieved the high accolades for his business development success.
During his time with Lloyds, he achieved Lexcel accreditation – resulting in overall responsibility for the management of the Legal Sector business in the East Midlands, acting as Business Initiator as well as mentoring other managers within the area when dealing with complex lending or tenders for the legal sector.
Following this success, Leo made the transition across the divide to take up a position of Commercial Director in a domiciliary care business. In this position, Leo doubled the turnover within a 12-month period. A fantastic practical test enabled him to demonstrate his project management, interpersonal and negotiation skills when tendering, winning and retaining contracts as well as all the day to day issues of a business spread over 12 sites.
Following the conclusion of this term contract he continued his transition into business mentor role within the business growth service, enabling clients to capture their ideas and galvanising them into sustainable business plans as a base document for future growth as well as accessing a wide range of innovative finance sources to fuel successful growth.
Having worked with Business Finance Solutions (UK) Ltd for many years across his various roles, Leo has taken a role as a partner to further develop the services and facilities Business Finance Solutions (UK) Ltd provides for its client base as the business becomes “The Regions Bank Manager”.
Mark Chandler – Associate
Mark’s wealth of experience spans more than 30 years in the Commercial Lending Sector in Commercial Property. Until recently, Mark was Lloyds’ Real Estate Relationship Director for Property Loans for £1m+ investments within the East Midlands and South Yorkshire, managing an impressive portfolio of Investment and Development Clients.
Mark strives to provide outstanding service to successful businesses, enabling them to grow even further. Mark works hard to ensure that development plans with the client and the bank are on track and progressing as intended.
As well as working in several banks, Mark has previously lectured on the Practice of Banking at Nottingham Trent University and contributed towards financial case studies in the Sunday Times Enterprise Network.
Emily Eaton – Business Development Executive
A recent graduate of Nottingham Trent University, Emily has a degree in Criminology and, prior to her studies, worked in Accounts and Administrative roles across various industries. Her previous responsibilities included forecasting, payroll, and responsibility for cash reconciliation, and she will now be enhancing her skillset and knowledge in a brand-new industry.
With Emily’s strong administrative background, she will be learning on the job and supporting four of our Business Development Managers in all areas of their roles.
